What is CrossFit Kids?
Answer: CrossFit Kids is meant to be BIG fun for all ages. Broad-Inclusive-General fun. Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our children. Further, the needs of second graders and high-school varsity wrestlers differ by degree and not kind; the program is scalable for any age or experience level and accounts for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of kids. CrossFit Kids is designed to be minimalist; it is inexpensive and often requires little or no equipment, allowing a wide array of socioeconomic groups an opportunity to be physically fit and physically active throughout their lives.
CrossFit Kids at Crush - aka Little Gorillas
Kids - Thursday 4pm: 4-5 to 7 to 9. Acceptance into class depends on maturity of the child - both on the young and high end. If they are not mature enough to pay attention in class they will need to wait until they are. If they are so mature that they should be placed in a more advanced class, then they will.
Kids class will consist of a warm up, skill, WOD and game.
Pre-teen - Monday 4pm: 7 to 9 to 13 or 14. Acceptance into the pre-teen class depends on the child's ability to listen and learn. In the pre-teen class we will not have a game at the end of class like we do with the kids class. We will introduce weight into the pre-teen class (once the child shows quality movement without weight) and more advanced movements like the snatch, clean and jerk and muscle up work.
Pre-teen class will consist of a warm up, skill work and a WOD.
